Gouache, India Ink
The purpose of this assignment was to paint a picture from an issue of National Geographic with gouache. After the painting was finished the entire picture was covered with india ink. When the ink dried the ink that covered the gouache was washed off with water leaving behind ink where there was little or no gouache present. I chose the image of a sail fish for my painting. Color was used to emphasize different parts of the fish and make it stand out against the darker parts of the painting.
